Three-Time Pro Bowl Guard Andrus Peat Announces Retirement
Peat spent nine seasons anchoring the Saints' offensive line after being drafted 13th overall in 2015, closing out his career with brief stints in Las Vegas and Pittsburgh.
Andrus Peat, a three-time Pro Bowl guard, announced his retirement Sunday at 32 after 11 NFL seasons. "11 years in the league, I gave it everything I had," Peat said. "I may be walking away from football, but not from the lessons it taught me."
What did his career look like?
The Saints drafted Peat 13th overall out of Stanford in 2015, and he went on to start 108 of 117 games for New Orleans, including playoffs, through the 2023 season. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
How did his career wind down?
Peat played one season with the Raiders in 2024, appearing in 15 games with a single start, before signing with the Steelers in 2025, where he started three of six games.
How is he remembered?
Peat's near-decade as a full-time starter in New Orleans made him one of the more durable interior offensive linemen of his generation, anchoring the Saints' front for the majority of his career before finishing out his final two seasons as a depth piece elsewhere.
