Jack Cochrane has spent his entire NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs since signing as an undrafted free agent in 2022, carving out a role on special teams and in defensive depth during one of the most successful stretches in franchise history. The Mount Vernon, Iowa native has two championship rings to show for it.

Path to the league

Cochrane played five seasons at South Dakota from 2017 to 2021, earning second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors in 2019 and first-team honors in 2021, a senior season in which he finished with 103 tackles. He went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent.

Career highlights

Cochrane began his rookie year on the practice squad before earning a roster promotion following Week 1 of the 2022 season. He has remained with Kansas City ever since, winning back-to-back Super Bowls in Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII as part of the Chiefs' linebacker and special teams units.

2025 season recap

Cochrane played his fourth season in Kansas City in 2025 on a one-year, $2.1 million contract, continuing his role as a special teams and depth linebacker. Across his career through 2025 he has totaled 62 tackles, an interception, two pass deflections and a fumble recovery in 64 games, and he was re-signed by the Chiefs for the 2026 season.
