An Australian import who traded rugby league dreams for punting, Jeremy Crawshaw set a Florida school record and became Denver's starting punter as a 2025 sixth-round pick.
Jeremy Crawshaw grew up in Sydney chasing a rugby league career before a specialized punting academy redirected him to American football. He became a record-setting punter at Florida, and the Broncos made him the only punter selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, handing him the starting job as a rookie.
Path to the league
Crawshaw grew up in Emu Plains, a suburb of Sydney, Australia, and trained at Nathan Chapman's ProKick Australia academy after his rugby league ambitions fell through. He committed to Florida in 2019 and became the Gators' starting punter in 2021. Denver selected him with the 216th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and the team released veteran punter Matt Haack shortly after to clear the job for him.
Career highlights
Crawshaw set a Florida school record with a 46.4 yards-per-punt career average, including a school-record 48.9-yard average in 2023 that earned him second-team All-SEC honors. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2021 and received honorable mention All-American recognition as a senior captain in 2024.
2025 season recap
Crawshaw won Denver's starting punter job as a rookie and appeared in all 17 regular-season games, averaging 47.6 yards per punt on 75 punts with 30 landing inside the 20-yard line. He carried that form into the playoffs, averaging 49.7 yards per punt across two postseason games, and was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
