Path to the league

Thomas began his college career at South Carolina in 2016, working through injuries including a serious ankle infection that limited him to two games as a senior before an extra season of eligibility. He transferred to Florida State for 2021, started all 12 games at defensive end, and earned third-team All-ACC honors with 42 tackles, 12 for loss and 6.5 sacks. He went undrafted in 2022 and signed with the Rams, making the 53-man roster as one of three undrafted rookies to do so.
