Treyton Welch is a tight end for the New Orleans Saints who spent five seasons developing at Wyoming before beginning his pro career with the Cleveland Browns. After a brief run in Cleveland, he found a home in New Orleans, grinding through the practice squad before finally earning an active-roster promotion.
Path to the league
Welch played five seasons at Wyoming from 2019-2023, developing into a move tight end who was most effective as a receiver from the slot or in motion. He went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent.
Career highlights
Welch's best college production came over his final two seasons at Wyoming, when he caught 53 passes for 616 yards and seven touchdowns combined. Released by Cleveland at final cuts in 2024, he was quickly signed to the New Orleans Saints' practice squad, where he spent the bulk of the next two seasons.
