A fourth-round pick out of Oklahoma State who found a new home in Detroit after being claimed off waivers from Jacksonville.

Tyler Lacy arrived in Detroit via the waiver wire in August 2025, giving the Lions another body on the interior defensive line. His college production at Oklahoma State pointed to a disruptive pass rusher, and he has worked to translate that into consistent NFL snaps.

Path to the league

Lacy played four seasons at Oklahoma State, appearing in 44 games and finishing with 113 tackles, 30 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the fourth round, 130th overall, of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

As a rookie in Jacksonville, Lacy appeared in 15 games, recording 12 tackles and a pass deflection. His college tackles-for-loss total ranks among the more productive marks for a Cowboys defensive lineman of his era, reflecting his disruptive style up front.

2025 season recap

The Jaguars released Lacy in final roster cuts on August 27, 2025, and the Lions claimed him off waivers the same day. He went on to play 10 games for Detroit, recording 21 total tackles and a sack before his snaps decreased once the Lions' starting defensive tackle returned from injury.
