Ulysses Bentley IV is an Indianapolis Colts running back who put together a college career spanning SMU and Ole Miss. A Houston, Texas native, he signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2025 and has steadily worked his way into the team's plans through practice squad elevations.

Path to the league

Bentley attended C.E. King High School in Harris County, Texas, before starting his college career at SMU. He transferred to Ole Miss in 2022 and finished his collegiate run there in 2024. He went unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent.

Career highlights

Bentley broke out as a redshirt freshman at SMU in 2020, rushing for 913 yards and 11 touchdowns on 170 carries, earning AAC Co-Rookie of the Year and first-team All-AAC honors. He added a second-team All-AAC campaign in 2021 before transferring to Ole Miss, where he ran for 540 yards in 2023 and 419 yards in 2024.

2025 season recap

As a rookie, Bentley was waived in initial roster cuts but re-signed to Indianapolis's practice squad, where he was elevated to the active roster multiple times over the course of the season. He signed a reserve/futures contract with the Colts in January 2026.
