NFL Totals (Over/Under)
Bet on combined points, not the winner.
The total, or over/under, is the sportsbook's projection of combined points scored by both teams. You bet whether the real total lands over or under that number, and the winner is irrelevant. A 47.5 total goes over at 48 combined points and under at 47. Totals are driven by pace, weather, and offensive quality, which makes them a favorite for bettors who study matchups rather than rooting interests.
Example
A Bills-Dolphins total of 49.5: a 28-24 final (52 points) cashes the over; a 20-17 final (37) cashes the under.
