The Carolina Panthers scrimmaged in front of roughly 40,000 fans at Bank of America Stadium, their first home appearance since losing in the opening round of the playoffs, but the night was overshadowed by injuries. Tight end Mitchell Evans was carted off the practice field with an ankle injury.
Who else sat out, and why?
Tight end Tommy Tremble was held out with general soreness in his right knee, wearing a sleeve on the sideline. Defensive tackle Derrick Brown and linebacker Devin Lloyd both sat as part of scheduled 'veteran days,' according to coach Dave Canales, unrelated to any new injury.
What other injuries has camp already produced?
Wide receiver Chris Brazzell and linebacker Nic Scourton both suffered season-ending knee injuries in the first week of camp, and tackle Taylor Moton remains out until the regular season with a blood clot. The tight end room's losses prompted Carolina to sign rookie Chamon Metayer out of Arizona State. 'We really felt like that's a group where the reps could really build up on and we wanted to bring another person in,' Canales said.

Carolina went 8-9 last season, won the NFC South and made the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
