A blocking-first tight end from Dayton who has settled into a starting role for the Broncos.

Adam Trautman starred at FCS Dayton before the Saints made him a third-round pick in 2020. He moved to Denver in 2023 and built a reputation as a reliable run blocker in Sean Payton's offense. The Broncos rewarded him with a multiyear extension after he developed into a steady starter.

Path to the league

Trautman was a dominant small-school prospect at Dayton, where he set Flyers records for a tight end. New Orleans drafted him in the third round in 2020 and traded up to do so. He spent three seasons with the Saints before signing with the Broncos in 2023.

2025 season

Trautman started for Denver and remained a key piece of the team's outside-zone running game, with coach Sean Payton calling his blocking very important. He recorded 14 receptions for 140 yards and a touchdown, flashing more as a receiver when injuries thinned the tight end room. He has been a three-year starter for the Broncos averaging roughly 60 percent of the snaps.
