Amarius Mims arrived in the NFL as a raw but physically imposing tackle prospect out of Georgia, where he won back-to-back national championships despite limited starting experience. The Bengals made him a first-round pick to help protect quarterback Joe Burrow, and he has quickly become a fixture at right tackle.
Path to the league
Mims played for Georgia from 2021 to 2023, winning national championships in 2021 and 2022 before earning his first starts late in the 2022 season after an injury to the incumbent right tackle. Despite starting only a handful of games in college, his combination of size (listed near 6-foot-8) and athletic testing numbers made him a first-round talent. Cincinnati selected him 18th overall in the 2024 NFL draft and signed him to a fully guaranteed four-year contract.
