A former UCLA walk-on story who became a six-year starting center in Las Vegas before joining Tennessee's offensive line.
Andre James built a career out of steady, unglamorous center play, first as an undrafted find in Oakland and Las Vegas, then as a veteran addition wherever a line needed stability. After a 2025 season with the Chargers, he joined the Titans to add experience up front.
Path to the league
James started the final 32 games of his UCLA career after stepping in for an injured Kolton Miller, helping the Bruins' rushing attack improve significantly in his senior season. He went unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft and signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent.
Career highlights
James spent six seasons with the Raiders organization, growing from a backup into a full-time starting center from 2021 through 2024. He started all 17 games at center in 2021 as Las Vegas finished 11th in the league in total yards per game, and he signed two multi-year extensions with the franchise before his release in March 2025.
2025 season recap
James signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in March 2025 and played out the season there before joining the Titans in June 2026. Across his career he has appeared in 106 games with 61 starts.
