Asim Richards built a reputation at North Carolina as an athletic, zone-scheme tackle with a basketball background, which carried him to a fifth-round selection by the Cowboys. He has since been traded to New Orleans, where he has worked to establish himself as a starting-caliber right tackle.
Path to the league
Richards started at both left and right tackle across four seasons at North Carolina, earning third-team All-ACC honors as a senior in 2022 when he started all 14 games and allowed just three sacks. The Dallas Cowboys selected him with the 169th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
