Austin Ajiake carved out his NFL path the hard way, signing undrafted with Denver before landing on the Colts' practice squad and eventually earning a 53-man roster spot. He has settled in as a rotational linebacker and core special teams contributor.

Path to the league

Ajiake went undrafted out of UNLV and signed with the Denver Broncos in 2023. He later joined the Colts' practice squad, was elevated for Indianapolis' Week 1 game in 2023, and eventually signed to the 53-man roster in September 2025.

Career highlights

Over five seasons at UNLV (2018-22), Ajiake appeared in 48 games with 20 starts, totaling 232 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, two interceptions and three passes defensed. His best season came as a fifth-year senior in 2022, when he posted 132 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss and two interceptions.

2025 season recap

Ajiake appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Colts in 2025, contributing on defense and special teams with 32 tackles and half a sack. His rookie special teams work carried over into a steadier rotational role by his second full NFL season.
