Britain Covey

An undrafted return specialist out of Utah, Britain Covey once led the NFL in punt return yardage and has since won a Super Bowl with the Eagles.

Britain Covey went undrafted out of Utah in 2022 but quickly made himself indispensable to the Eagles as a return specialist. After bouncing between the practice squad and active roster, he re-signed with Philadelphia in late 2025 and remains part of the club's special-teams core.

Path to the league

Covey starred at Utah from 2015 to 2021, catching 132 passes for 1,497 yards and eight touchdowns while also returning kicks and punts for 1,143 combined yards and two touchdowns. He was a five-time All-American as a returner and a multiple-time All-Pac-12 selection. Covey signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent after the 2022 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Covey served as Philadelphia's primary return man as a rookie, returning 33 punts and 10 kickoffs for a combined 514 yards, and helped the Eagles reach the Super Bowl that season. In his second season he led the entire NFL in punt return yardage with 417. He later won a Super Bowl ring with the Eagles.

2025 season recap

Covey spent much of the 2025 season on Philadelphia's practice squad before being promoted to the active roster ahead of Week 13 and signing a one-year, $1.1 million contract that November. Across six regular-season games he caught two of four targets for 20 yards while adding 125 kickoff-return yards and 124 punt-return yards, primarily working as a special-teams contributor.
