Clemson's all-time leading scorer at kicker, now chasing a lasting NFL job after a detour through the UFL.

B.T. Potter set school scoring records across five seasons at Clemson and won a national championship there before going undrafted in 2023. After a short stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers and a season kicking in the UFL, he has landed with Tampa Bay.

Path to the league

Potter played five seasons at Clemson from 2018 to 2022, working his way from backup to full-time starter by 2019. He went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft and signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who released him that August.

Potter finished his Clemson career as the program's all-time leader in field goals made (73), extra points made (234), and total points by a kicker (453), converting 75.3 percent of his field-goal attempts. He was a two-time second-team All-ACC selection (2021-22) and won the College Football Playoff national championship with Clemson in 2018.

2025 season recap

After his release from Pittsburgh, Potter signed with the Michigan Panthers of the UFL in November 2024. In 12 games during the 2025 UFL season, he made 13 of 18 field-goal attempts with a long of 56 yards. Tampa Bay signed him to compete for its kicking job in June 2026.
