A sixth-year pro out of California who led the Pac-12 in sacks per game as a senior, Cameron Goode has battled injuries to remain a depth linebacker in the NFL.

Cameron Goode spent six seasons at California building a reputation as a disruptive pass rusher off the edge before landing with Miami as a seventh-round pick. He has dealt with injury setbacks as a pro but has continued fighting for a roster spot in the Dolphins' front seven.

Path to the league

Goode played six seasons for the California Golden Bears from 2016 to 2021, redshirting his first year on campus. He capped his college career with a strong 2021 season, earning second-team All-Pac-12 honors after leading the conference in sacks per game at 0.68 and finishing second in the league with 7.5 total sacks. The Miami Dolphins selected him in the seventh round, 224th overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Across his Cal career, Goode totaled 171 tackles, 36.5 tackles for loss and 21.5 sacks. At his pre-draft testing he ran a 4.63-second 40-yard dash and posted a 39-inch vertical jump. He also earned a bachelor's degree in legal studies from Cal along with graduate certificates in entrepreneurship and business administration.

2025 season recap

Goode has cycled between Miami's active roster, practice squad and injured reserve throughout his career, including a stint on IR that began in January 2024 before he was activated in December of that year off the physically unable to perform list. He re-signed with the Dolphins in March 2026, continuing his push for a consistent role in the linebacker rotation.
