A former Georgia walk-on who won two national championships and now signs on with the Falcons after being moved from running back to receiver.

Cash Jones joined the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after a five-year Georgia career that began as a walk-on and ended with two national titles. A pass-catching specialist out of the backfield in college, the Falcons have already started working him in with their wide receivers, betting his hands and blocking translate to a new role.

Path to the league

Jones is from Brock, Texas, where he played at Brock High School before walking on at Georgia. He spent five seasons with the Bulldogs, appearing in 55 games and developing into a reliable pass-catching back and blocker rather than a between-the-tackles rusher. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Falcons shortly after.

Career highlights

Jones leaves Georgia as a two-time national champion and three-time SEC champion, part of the Bulldogs' 2021 and 2022 title teams. For his career he totaled 253 rushing yards on 52 carries with three touchdowns and added 57 receptions for 573 yards and six touchdowns, doing his best work as a receiver and run blocker out of the backfield.

2025 season recap

As a senior in 2025, Jones caught 20 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown, continuing his role as a pass-catching option for Georgia's offense. After going undrafted, he signed with Atlanta, which has already begun cross-training him at wide receiver given his strengths as a route runner and blocker.
