An undrafted Alcorn State product who finally cracked an NFL box score after four years of grinding on practice squads.
Chris Blair is a depth wide receiver for the Falcons who has taken the long way to relevance in the league, bouncing from Hinds Community College to Alcorn State and then through Green Bay's practice squad before sticking in Atlanta. His path is defined by patience rather than draft-day fanfare.
Path to the league
Blair started his college career at Hinds Community College before transferring to Alcorn State, where he played the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He finished his Alcorn State career with 87 receptions for 1,460 yards and 13 touchdowns over 26 games, capped by a senior year in which he ranked sixth nationally in yards per reception. He went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
After going undrafted, Blair worked out for the Green Bay Packers before officially joining the club in January 2021 and spending that season on the practice squad. He also played for the DC Defenders in the XFL in 2023, catching 26 passes for 594 yards and three touchdowns. He joined the Falcons in 2023 and made his regular-season NFL debut that November against the New Orleans Saints.
2025 season recap
Blair has remained a depth and special-teams piece for Atlanta, with his lone career NFL reception coming on a 17-yard catch from Michael Penix Jr. against the New York Giants. His NFL playing time has stayed limited, and he continues to compete for a roster spot each summer on the strength of his special-teams work and practice-squad reliability.
