Chris Braswell is an edge rusher for Tampa Bay who waited his turn behind future NFL talent at Alabama before taking over as a starter and becoming a second-round pick. The Baltimore native has spent three seasons rushing off the edge for the Buccaneers, contributing on defense and special teams.

Path to the league

Braswell arrived at Alabama as a five-star recruit in the 2020 class but played behind Will Anderson and Dallas Turner for multiple seasons before finally becoming a starter in 2023. In his lone season as Alabama's primary edge rusher, he recorded 42 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 8 sacks, prompting Tampa Bay to draft him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, No. 57 overall.

Career highlights

As a senior at Alabama, Braswell delivered several signature plays, including a pick-six against Mississippi State, a strip-sack that set up a touchdown against Tennessee, and a blocked field goal against Texas A&M. He was the first Alabama senior taken off the board in the 2024 draft and has spent his first three NFL seasons developing as a rotational edge rusher for the Buccaneers.
