A first-round pick out of Utah who began his college career at a non-scholarship program, Dalton Kincaid has developed into a Pro Bowl tight end for the Bills.

Dalton Kincaid's rise from a walk-on at the University of San Diego to a first-round NFL tight end is one of the more unlikely stories in Buffalo's locker room. Since arriving as the first tight end off the board in the 2023 draft, Kincaid has become one of Josh Allen's most trusted targets, capped by a 2026 Pro Bowl selection.

Path to the league

Kincaid started his college career in a non-scholarship role at the University of San Diego before transferring to Utah, where he helped the Utes to back-to-back Pac-12 championships and Rose Bowl trips, catching 106 passes for 1,400 yards and eight touchdowns in 2021 and 2022 combined. The Bills selected him with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the first tight end taken that year and Buffalo's first first-round tight end since 1983.

Career highlights

Kincaid has steadily grown into a focal point of Buffalo's passing attack, developing chemistry with quarterback Josh Allen as a reliable target across the middle of the field. His route-running and receiving skill set have made him one of the more productive young tight ends in the league.

2025 season recap

Kincaid caught 39 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns in 2025, posting a league-best 149.2 passer rating when targeted among tight ends, and earned his first career Pro Bowl selection for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games.
