Earnest Brown IV

Defensive End · Northwestern

A 2021 fifth-round pick and Super Bowl LVI champion who has bounced across five organizations while chasing a full-time defensive line role.

Earnest Brown IV has the rare distinction of a championship ring from his rookie year, having been on the Los Angeles Rams' roster for their Super Bowl LVI win. Since then, the well-traveled defensive lineman has cycled through San Francisco, Tampa Bay and Dallas before landing with the Titans, still searching for the consistent snaps that eluded him early in his career.

Path to the league

A four-star recruit out of Denton, Texas, Brown committed to Northwestern and played four seasons for the Wildcats. The Los Angeles Rams drafted him in the fifth round (174th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

Brown appeared in five games as a rookie in 2021 as the Rams won Super Bowl LVI, giving him a championship ring before he had established a regular defensive role. Across three seasons in Los Angeles he totaled 14 tackles in limited action, then moved through short stints with the 49ers and Buccaneers, appearing in three games for Tampa Bay in 2024 after returning from injured reserve.

2025 season recap

Brown signed with the Dallas Cowboys off the practice squad in January 2025 but was released in the Cowboys' August roster cuts before the season started, leaving him without regular-season game action in 2025. He signed a reserve/futures contract with the Titans in February 2026 to compete for a spot on the defensive front.
