A Puerto Rico-born center who relocated to Miami after Hurricane Maria and became the first Puerto Rican-born player to win a Super Bowl.
Federico Maranges left Dorado, Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria and rebuilt his football path through Miami and Florida Atlantic before signing with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He capped his rookie season by winning Super Bowl LX, becoming the first Puerto Rican-born player in NFL history to do so.
Path to the league
Maranges and his family relocated to Miami following Hurricane Maria, and he attended Christopher Columbus High School before enrolling at Florida Atlantic. He played in 44 games for the Owls from 2019 to 2024, starting at guard early in his career before locking down the starting center job for his final two seasons, and went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.

2025 season recap
Maranges signed with the Seattle Seahawks as a priority undrafted free agent on May 2, 2025. He was released in final roster cuts on August 26 but re-signed to the practice squad the next day, and he signed a reserve/futures contract on February 12, 2026, after Seattle's 29-13 win over New England in Super Bowl LX made him the first Puerto Rican-born Super Bowl champion in NFL history.
