The son of Hall of Fame finalist Frank Gore, Frank Gore Jr. rushed for 4,022 yards at Southern Miss and got his first NFL postseason action in Buffalo's 2025 playoff run.

Frank Gore Jr. carries a famous name into an NFL career built on the same grinding, between-the-tackles style his father used for over 16,000 rushing yards. After going undrafted out of Southern Miss, he has stuck around the Bills roster through multiple practice squad cycles and finally got on the field in the postseason.

Path to the league

Gore played four seasons at Southern Miss from 2020 to 2023, rushing for 4,022 yards, the third-most in program history, on 759 carries with 26 touchdowns. He also caught 75 passes for 692 yards and completed 17 of 35 passes for 368 yards and 7 touchdowns out of the wildcat, and he capped his college career with a bowl-record 329 rushing yards in the 2022 LendingTree Bowl.

Career highlights

He went undrafted in 2024 and signed with the Bills, cycling between the active roster and practice squad before locking in a reserve/future contract in January 2025. He scored his first career touchdown in the 2024 preseason on a five-yard run against Carolina.

2025 season recap

Gore spent most of the 2025 season on Buffalo's practice squad behind James Cook and Ray Davis before an injury opened the door to his first career postseason action. He was called up for the Bills' Wild Card game against Jacksonville in January 2026 and caught one pass for six yards in his playoff debut.
