A four-year SIAC standout at Albany State, Grover Stewart has anchored the Colts' interior defensive line for the better part of a decade.
Grover Stewart came out of Division II Albany State to become a fourth-round steal for the Indianapolis Colts, and he has remained the team's run-stuffing anchor up front ever since. Now in his 10th season, he continues to hold down the nose for Indianapolis.
Path to the league
Stewart starred at Albany State, earning SIAC All-Conference honors for four straight years and helping the Golden Rams to a 2013 SIAC championship along with two more title-game appearances. Despite playing at over 330 pounds, he generated 27 sacks from the interior of the defensive line in college. The Colts selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Stewart signed a three-year, $30.75 million contract extension with the Colts and has become one of the steadier interior defenders in the league, compiling more than 400 career tackles, 13 sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception through his time in Indianapolis.
2025 season recap
Stewart played all 17 games for the Colts in 2025, recording 55 tackles, half a sack and three pass breakups, including an interception. His per-snap production dipped somewhat from 2024, a decline that came the same year he turned 32.
