Harold Fannin Jr. put together one of the most productive tight end seasons in FBS history at Bowling Green, then carried that production into the NFL as a third-round pick of the Browns. A native of Canton, Ohio, home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Fannin stepped into a featured receiving role as a rookie and quickly became one of Cleveland's most trusted targets.

Path to the league

Fannin starred on both sides of the ball at McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio, before choosing Bowling Green. His production exploded as a junior in 2024, when he caught an FBS-record 117 passes for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns, becoming the first tight end in FBS history to lead the nation in both categories. The Browns selected him with the 67th overall pick in the third round of the 2025 draft, the highest a Bowling Green player had been drafted since 1973.

Career highlights

Fannin's junior season earned him consensus All-American honors, the MAC Offensive Player of the Year award, MAC Most Valuable Player, and First Team All-MAC recognition, plus MVP honors in the 68 Ventures Bowl after a 17-catch, 213-yard performance. He is Bowling Green's first-ever consensus All-American.

2025 season recap

Fannin played in all 16 games as a rookie with 13 starts, catching 72 passes for 731 yards and 6 touchdowns. He led the Browns in receiving and set the franchise's rookie receptions record, establishing himself as a key part of Cleveland's offense in year one.
