Hunter Long is a tight end who has bounced between four teams since entering the league in 2021, most recently signing with Jacksonville. After a quiet start to his career in Miami, Long has carved out a niche as a reliable depth tight end who can still make plays in the passing game.
Path to the league
Long starred at Boston College, leading all FBS tight ends in receptions and receiving yards during his final college season in 2020 with 57 catches for 685 yards. The Miami Dolphins drafted him in the third round (81st overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft, making him the first Boston College player selected that year.
Career highlights
Long's rookie deal with Miami produced little playing time behind Mike Gesicki, and he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in March 2023. He set career highs with the Rams in 2024, catching seven passes for 60 yards across all 17 games before signing with Jacksonville in free agency.
2025 season recap
In his first season with the Jaguars, Long appeared in nine games with three starts, recording 12 receptions for 85 yards and a career-high two touchdowns, his most productive statistical season to date.
