Isaiah Land terrorized FCS quarterbacks at Florida A&M, winning the sport's top defensive honor before going undrafted in 2023. He has since cycled through Dallas, Indianapolis, and back to Dallas again as he looks to translate his pass-rush production into a lasting NFL roster spot.

Path to the league

As a redshirt junior in 2021, Land recorded 19 sacks and 25.5 tackles for loss at Florida A&M, earning the Buck Buchanan Award as the top defensive player in FCS football, first-team All-American honors and SWAC Defensive Player of the Year. He turned down Power Five transfer interest to return for his senior season, then went undrafted in 2023 after finishing with 8 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in nine games.

Career highlights

Dallas signed Land as an undrafted free agent in April 2023 but waived him that August, and the Indianapolis Colts claimed him off waivers, where he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons developing as a depth pass rusher. His college sack production remains the headline of his football story to date.

2025 season recap

Land returned to Dallas on a practice squad deal in 2025 and signed a reserve/future contract with the Cowboys in January 2026, giving him another shot to earn a spot on the active roster after his 2023 stint ended in a release.
