A North Dakota State three-time FCS national champion who went from undrafted free agent to starting guard for the Giants as a rookie.
Jake Kubas grew up in Dickinson, North Dakota in a football family, with his father and brother both having played for the Bison before him. After a decorated career that included three FCS national championships, he signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and worked his way into the starting lineup by December of his rookie season.
Path to the league
Kubas redshirted at North Dakota State in 2018 as part of a national championship squad, then helped the Bison win two more national titles in 2019 and 2021. He started 30 consecutive games across his final two seasons and earned first-team All-MVFC and FCS All-American honors in 2023. He went unselected in the 2024 NFL Draft but signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent on a three-year, $2.86 million deal.
Career highlights
In college, Kubas was a first-team Stats Perform FCS All-American, a second-team Phil Steele FCS All-American, and a third-team Associated Press FCS All-American in 2023, while also earning six MVFC Academic Honor Roll selections.
2025 season recap
Kubas made the Giants' 53-man roster as a rookie in 2024 and got his first NFL action that December, starting at both left and right guard down the stretch. He has continued to compete for interior offensive line reps with the Giants into the 2025 season.
