Jamaal Pritchett is a compact, explosive receiver who built his path to the NFL from the ground up, going from Tuskegee to a breakout transfer season at South Alabama. Undersized at 5-foot-8 but dangerous after the catch, he signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent and has spent his rookie year fighting for a foothold on the roster.
Path to the league
Pritchett began his college career at Tuskegee in 2021, catching 29 passes for 528 yards and three touchdowns, before transferring to South Alabama as a walk-on in 2022. He went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft but signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent that May.
Career highlights
Pritchett's 2024 senior season was his breakout campaign, hauling in 91 receptions for 1,126 yards and nine touchdowns while leading the Sun Belt Conference in both catches and receiving yards. He earned First-team All-Sun Belt honors and finished his South Alabama career with 150 receptions for 2,034 yards and 17 touchdowns, and he was invited to play in the 2025 Senior Bowl.
2025 season recap
Pritchett failed to make the Jets' 53-man roster out of training camp but stuck around on the practice squad. He was not elevated to the active roster during the regular season, though New York re-signed him to a reserve/future contract in January 2026 to keep developing him.
