Jason Sanders spent seven seasons as Miami's primary kicker, setting the franchise record for field-goal accuracy and earning All-Pro recognition along the way. A hip injury wiped out his 2025 season, but the veteran leg has continued pursuing opportunities to return to an NFL field after establishing himself as one of the more reliable kickers of his era.
Path to the league
Sanders played college football at New Mexico from 2014 to 2017, converting 111 of 112 extra points and 25 of 35 field goals with a career long of 53 yards. Miami selected him in the seventh round (229th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Sanders appeared in 116 games across seven seasons with Miami, converting 187 of 221 field-goal attempts (84.6 percent), the best mark in franchise history, including a franchise-record streak of 27 consecutive field goals made. He earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2020 and set a career high with 37 made field goals in 2024.
2025 season recap
Sanders missed the entire 2025 season after suffering a hip injury in training camp, with Miami turning to a replacement kicker in his absence. He did not record any statistics in 2025 as he worked through recovery.
