A do-it-all Maryland playmaker who overcame two major injuries in college, Jeshaun Jones is still chasing his first NFL regular-season snap with Minnesota.
Jeshaun Jones is a wide receiver who signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in April 2024 after a six-year Maryland career defined equally by big plays and significant injury setbacks. He remains on Minnesota's roster on a futures deal as he tries to finally break through onto the field.
Path to the league
Jones burst onto the scene as a Maryland freshman in 2018, scoring seven total touchdowns and flashing dual-threat ability as both a receiver and runner. His career was then interrupted twice by significant injuries, a torn ACL that cost him the 2019 season and a season-ending injury in 2021, before he closed strong in 2023 with 53 receptions for 747 yards and four touchdowns, earning Third-team All-Big Ten honors.
Career highlights
Despite the injury interruptions, Jones finished his Maryland career with well over 100 receptions and more than 2,000 all-purpose yards, production that earned him a three-year undrafted free agent contract from the Vikings in 2024, including one of the higher guaranteed salaries among that year's UDFA class.
2025 season recap
Jones spent the 2025 season on Minnesota's practice squad without appearing in a regular-season game, continuing to develop behind the Vikings' receiver depth chart. He signed a reserve/future contract with Minnesota in January 2026, keeping his path toward an active roster spot open.
