Joe Thuney is a five-time first-team All-Pro guard who became the anchor of Chicago's revamped offensive line.
Joe Thuney turned an NC State career into one of the most decorated interior offensive line resumes of his era. After winning rings in New England and Kansas City, he was traded to the Bears in 2025 and continued his run of All-Pro play.
Path to the league
Thuney was an All-American at NC State before the New England Patriots took him in the third round, 78th overall, of the 2016 NFL Draft. He started immediately and became a fixture on championship lines. After New England he signed with Kansas City in 2021.
Career highlights
Thuney has won multiple Super Bowls between his Patriots and Chiefs tenures and earned repeated All-Pro recognition. On March 12, 2025, the Chiefs traded him to the Bears for a 2026 fourth-round pick, per Pack Insider. He signed a two-year, $35 million extension with Chicago on May 20, 2025, that runs through 2027.
2025 season
Thuney started at left guard for the Bears in 2025 and, per multiple reports, earned first-team All-Pro honors for a third straight season in his age-31 campaign. His arrival was viewed as a steadying force for Chicago's reshaped front. He was also named to the NC State Ring of Honor during the year.
