Jonathan Bullard is a journeyman defensive lineman who entered the league as a third-round pick out of Florida. Across a decade in the NFL he has played for several franchises in 3-4 schemes as a big-bodied end. He agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys for the 2026 season.
Path to the league
Bullard spent all four of his college seasons at Florida before the Chicago Bears selected him in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He has since played for the Cardinals, Seahawks, Falcons, Vikings, and Saints, building a reputation as a smart, physical interior and edge defender.
2025 season
Bullard appeared in 15 games for the New Orleans Saints in 2025, starting six, and recorded 26 tackles, four tackles for loss, and two pass breakups. He continued in his established role as a sturdy run defender along the line.
Looking ahead
The Cowboys agreed to terms with Bullard on a one-year deal worth a maximum of $2.5 million. In Dallas he reunites with former defensive line coach Marcus Dixon, who coached him with the Vikings in 2024, and slots in as a big end as the team shifts to a 3-4 base under new coordinator Christian Parker.
