Joshua Gray is a battle-tested interior offensive lineman fighting for a roster spot with the Carolina Panthers. After going undrafted in 2025 despite a long, productive college career, he has bounced between practice squads before landing a futures deal in Carolina, where his versatility along the offensive line gives him a real shot to stick.

Path to the league

Gray was a three-star recruit out of Rancho Cucamonga High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California, who picked Oregon State over offers from Arizona, Nebraska and Washington State. He redshirted in 2019, then started 44 games at left tackle over four seasons before returning for a sixth and final year in 2024, when he kicked inside to left guard. He went unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Career highlights

A three-time Second-team All-Pac-12 selection (2020, 2022 and 2023), Gray was regarded as one of the most experienced offensive linemen in his draft class and drew praise as an above-average run blocker in zone schemes. Some draft analysts tabbed him among the better center prospects available even though he played guard and tackle in college.

2025 season recap

Gray signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in April 2025, was waived at final cuts in late August, and immediately returned to Atlanta's practice squad. He did not appear in a regular-season game for the Falcons in 2025. In January 2026 he signed a reserve/future contract with the Carolina Panthers, where he now competes for a spot at guard.
