Justin Reid is the New Orleans Saints' veteran safety and a Louisiana native who returned home in 2025.
Reid signed with the Saints in March 2025 on a three-year deal after three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he won a Super Bowl. A Prairieville, Louisiana, native and Stanford product, he stepped in as a veteran leader and was named a team captain in his first season back in his home state. He brings experience and physicality to the back end of the New Orleans defense.
Path to the league
Reid played college football at Stanford, where he was a standout safety for the Cardinal. The Houston Texans selected him in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He started for Houston for four seasons before signing with Kansas City in 2022 and later joining the Saints in 2025.

Reid won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs and established himself as a reliable, versatile safety over his career. With New Orleans he was selected as a team captain in his first season, reflecting his standing in the locker room.
