Out of Philadelphia, Mississippi, Calloway was a four-star recruit who originally signed with Alabama as a safety before withdrawing and enrolling at East Mississippi Community College. He later played for Old Dominion, where he averaged 7.1 yards per carry, then transferred to California before finishing his college career at New Mexico State.
Career highlights
At Old Dominion, Calloway rushed for 623 yards and five touchdowns on a 7.1 yards-per-carry average and added a receiving touchdown on six catches. His versatility as both a runner and pass-catcher out of the backfield followed him through each of his college stops.

In his final college season at New Mexico State, Calloway carried the ball 115 times for 438 yards and three touchdowns while catching 26 passes for 175 yards.
