Kye Robichaux built his college reputation as a between-the-tackles bruiser who embraces contact, closing out his Boston College career as one of the program's more productive backs in recent memory. He signed with Detroit as an undrafted free agent, entering a crowded backfield chasing a depth role.
Path to the league
Robichaux started his college career at Western Kentucky before transferring to Boston College, where he became the Eagles' feature back over his final two seasons. He went undrafted in 2025 and signed with the Lions shortly after the draft.

Across his four college seasons, Robichaux rushed for 2,342 yards and 24 touchdowns while adding 44 receptions for 368 yards and two more scores through the air. His 1,524 rushing yards over his two seasons at Boston College rank among the more productive stretches by a Boston College back in the modern era, including a 744-yard, 10-touchdown senior season in 2024 that was the program's best rushing output since AJ Dillon.
2025 season recap
Robichaux signed with Detroit as an undrafted free agent in the spring of 2025 and worked through training camp behind the Lions' established backfield of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. He did not appear in a regular season game as a rookie after being waived with an injury designation during roster cuts in August.
