A Pittsburgh-area receiver who bounced through three college programs before landing back home with the Steelers.
Levi Wentz took a long road through college football, from a COVID-canceled debut at Old Dominion to stops at Albany and Kansas, before going undrafted in 2026. After a brief stint with the Seattle Seahawks ended in a release, the Pine-Richland High School product signed with his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers.
Path to the league
A Pittsburgh native out of Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, Wentz began his college career at Old Dominion before transferring to Albany in 2023 and finishing at Kansas in 2025. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed with the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent before being waived and picked up by the Steelers.
Career highlights
Wentz posted his best college production at Albany, where he caught 40 passes for 621 yards and a touchdown in 2024 after a 16-catch, 245-yard season the year before. He closed his college career with a season at Kansas, giving him experience across three different programs and offensive systems.
2025 season recap
In his only season at Kansas, Wentz appeared in all 12 games with six starts, catching 16 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns. He signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent in May 2026, was waived in June, and quickly landed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, returning him to his hometown team.
