Liam Anderson is a linebacker on the Bengals roster who took the long road to a full-time NFL job, grinding through three seasons on practice squads before signing a reserve/future deal in Cincinnati. The New Jersey native built his reputation at Holy Cross as a relentless, sideline-to-sideline defender, and he is now trying to translate that production into a consistent NFL role.
Path to the league
Anderson starred for five seasons at Holy Cross from 2018 to 2022, racking up 232 tackles, 14.5 sacks and six interceptions for the Crusaders and earning first-team All-Patriot League honors in each of his final two years. He went undrafted in 2023 and signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a college free agent.
Career highlights
Anderson spent most of his first two pro seasons cycling on and off the Colts' practice squad, making his NFL debut on January 1, 2024 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He appeared in four games for Indianapolis across the 2023 and 2024 seasons before being waived with an injury settlement in August 2025.
2025 season recap
