A versatile interior lineman who started at both guard and center in college and looked poised for a bigger role in Denver before a torn ACL ended his second season early.
Nick Gargiulo transferred from Yale to South Carolina and immediately became the Gamecocks' most reliable offensive lineman, which was enough to get him drafted by Denver in the seventh round. He was pushing for real playing time in his second training camp when injury intervened.
Path to the league
Gargiulo started 36 of 37 games he played between Yale, from 2018 to 2022, and South Carolina in 2023. At South Carolina, he was named team captain and was the only offensive lineman to start all 12 games, opening the season at left guard before moving to center for the final seven contests. Denver drafted him in the seventh round, No. 256 overall, in 2024, making him just the second Gamecock offensive lineman drafted in five years.
Career highlights
Gargiulo's calling card has been positional versatility, with proven experience at both guard and center. Broncos coaches praised his development early in his second training camp, with offensive line coach Zach Strief noting he was competing well for a role before the season-ending injury.
2025 season recap
Gargiulo tore his right ACL in a preseason game against Arizona in August 2025 and was placed on season-ending injured reserve, ending his second NFL season before it started. He had been in the mix for a backup guard role and, according to his position coach, was in position to compete for a starting job in 2026 had he stayed healthy.
