Nikko Reed went undrafted out of Oregon in 2025, but a standout training camp and preseason - including an interception in the Hall of Fame Game - forced the Chargers to keep him. He now competes for defensive snaps and special teams work as a young corner still building his NFL resume.
Path to the league
Reed began his college career at Colorado (2021-2022) before transferring to Oregon for his final two seasons. At Oregon he worked as a rotational starting cornerback, totaling 64 tackles, a sack, 13 pass deflections and two interceptions across 2023-2024. He went unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft and signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent.
Career highlights
Reed's biggest moments so far have come in exhibition play, most notably a 60-yard interception return and multiple pass breakups during the 2025 Hall of Fame Game that helped secure his roster spot as an undrafted rookie. At Colorado, he flashed early promise with 42 tackles as a sophomore starter before transferring to Oregon.
