A hometown offensive tackle who fought his way back to Jacksonville through the UFL after bouncing across three practice squads.
Ricky Lee grew up in Jacksonville and took a winding road back to his hometown team, going undrafted in 2023, cycling through the Panthers, Vikings, Browns and Giants organizations, and playing a season in the UFL before signing with the Jaguars in August 2025. He now sits on Jacksonville's practice squad on a reserve/future deal, still fighting for a permanent roster spot.
Path to the league
Lee began his college career at North Carolina Central, starting at right tackle as a freshman, before transferring to North Carolina A&T after the COVID-shortened 2020 season. He switched to left tackle for the Aggies and earned second-team All-Big South honors as a senior in 2022, starting all 45 games he appeared in across his college career. He went undrafted in 2023 and signed with the Carolina Panthers.
Career highlights
Lee appeared in six games for the Panthers as a rookie, mostly on special teams, then spent parts of 2024 on the practice squads of the Vikings, Browns and Giants. Looking for reps, he joined the Arlington Renegades of the UFL in January 2025 and started all 10 games at offensive tackle that spring, which helped put him back on NFL radars.
2025 season recap
Jacksonville signed Lee on August 1, 2025, bringing the Jacksonville native back to his hometown team. He was waived in final roster cuts on August 26 but re-signed to the practice squad the next day, and he closed the year on a reserve/future contract with the Jaguars.
