Path to the league

A six-star long snapping prospect out of Lake Mary High School in Florida, Underwood chose the Gators over Alabama and Arkansas. He redshirted in 2021, then handled snapping duties through the 2022 to 2025 seasons, going unselected in the 2026 NFL Draft before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent.

Career highlights

Underwood won the 2024 Patrick Mannelly Award as the top long snapper in college football and earned second-team All-SEC honors that same season. He started 11 of 12 games in 2024, recording three tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams.

2025 season recap

In his final year at Florida, Underwood logged 103 total special-teams snaps, 52 on punts and 51 on field goals and extra points, while adding a solo tackle against LSU and a fumble recovery against Kentucky.
