Ryan Neuzil's rise is a patience story. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2021, he spent his entire rookie season on the practice squad before slowly working his way into the Falcons' starting lineup, eventually earning a multi-year deal to anchor the offensive line at center.

Path to the league

Neuzil played five seasons (2016-2020) at Appalachian State, starting at left guard for most of his career after converting from tight end in high school. He earned first-team all-conference honors in 2019 and 2020. He went undrafted in 2021 and signed with the Atlanta Falcons.

Career highlights

Neuzil spent his rookie year entirely on the practice squad before making his NFL debut in November 2022. He steadily earned more playing time, replacing an injured Drew Dalman at center in 2024 and starting eight straight games. His development was rewarded with a two-year, $9.5 million contract in May 2025 that made him Atlanta's starting center.

2025 season recap

Neuzil took over as the Falcons' full-time starting center in 2025 and graded as one of the better centers in the league, posting a 77.4 overall PFF grade that ranked 7th among qualified centers, with his run-blocking grade of 82.1 ranking 6th at the position.
