Samaje Perine set Oklahoma's single-game rushing record in college and has built a steady NFL career as a pass-protecting, receiving back. He re-signed with Cincinnati in 2025 for his third tour with the franchise. He plays a complementary role behind the Bengals' lead back.
Path to the league
Perine rushed for an Oklahoma school-record 427 yards in a single game and left as a Sooners standout. Washington drafted him in the fourth round in 2017. He later carved out a niche in Cincinnati as a reliable backup and third-down option.
2025 season
Perine signed a two-year deal to return to the Bengals in March 2025. He finished with 84 carries for 382 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games, adding 17 catches for 87 yards. His best outing came in Week 8 against the Jets with 94 rushing yards and a score.
