An undrafted Oklahoma product who has become Washington's all-time leader in punting yards, Tress Way is a three-time Pro Bowler.
Tress Way has spent his entire NFL career in Washington after the team claimed him off waivers in 2014. More than a decade later, he owns the franchise record book at his position and remains one of the league's steadiest punters.
Path to the league
Way punted for Oklahoma from 2008 to 2012, appearing in 53 games and setting the school record with 71 career punts of 50 yards or more. He went undrafted and was claimed off waivers by Washington in 2014.
Career highlights
Way holds Washington's career franchise records for punting yards (39,031), average (46.9) and punts inside the 20-yard line (325). He earned Pro Bowl honors following the 2019 and 2022 seasons and was a second-team All-Pro in 2019.
2025 season recap
Way earned his third career Pro Bowl selection for the 2025 season, tying Matt Turk for the most Pro Bowl nods by a Washington punter, and was named the team's lone Pro Bowler that year. Washington rewarded him with a contract extension following the honor.
