A Rhode Island native and Brown University All-Ivy receiver making the unusual jump to tight end as an undrafted Ravens rookie.
Ty Pezza signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent out of Brown University, where he led the Bears in receiving as a senior. At 6-foot-4, the Ravens are converting him from wide receiver to a tight end and H-back role as he tries to make the roster on special teams and in a depth capacity.
Path to the league
Pezza, a North Kingstown, Rhode Island native, spent a prep year at Phillips Exeter Academy before enrolling at Brown, where he played four seasons as a wide receiver. He signed a three-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in April 2026 and is converting to tight end and H-back at the NFL level.
Career highlights
Pezza earned second-team All-Ivy League and second-team Phil Steele All-Ivy honors as a senior at Brown, while also being named to the FCS Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team. He led the Bears in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns in his final season.
2025 season recap
In his last college season, Pezza caught 46 passes for 599 yards and seven touchdowns, leading Brown in all three categories and averaging just under 60 receiving yards per game. That production earned him an invitation to Baltimore's rookie minicamp and, ultimately, a three-year contract as the team looks at him in a new tight end/H-back role.
