Zach Frazier stepped into the West Virginia lineup as a true freshman and never looked back, carrying that same immediate-impact profile into the NFL as Pittsburgh's second-round pick in 2024. He was the Steelers' Offensive Rookie of the Year and has continued to graded out as one of the league's better centers into 2025.
Path to the league
Frazier became West Virginia's starting center as a true freshman in 2020, the first Mountaineer to do so in over 40 years, and earned first-team Freshman All-American honors. He went on to earn first-team All-Big 12 recognition and was a William V. Campbell Trophy finalist as a senior. Pittsburgh drafted him in the second round, 51st overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Career highlights
Frazier started 15 games as a rookie in 2024, playing 976 offensive snaps and allowing just one sack, earning the Steelers' team Offensive Rookie of the Year award and a spot on the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Pittsburgh finished 10-7 and made the playoffs that season.
2025 season recap
Frazier returned as Pittsburgh's starting center for a second straight year in 2025, playing over 1,000 offensive snaps and grading among the league's top centers by Pro Football Focus, ranking in the top ten at the position in both overall and pass-blocking grade.
