Zachary Carter is a defensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals, drafted out of Florida for his ability to blend traditional 3-technique quickness with the size of a bigger defensive end. He has played for three franchises since entering the league in 2022.

Path to the league

Carter grew up in Tampa, Florida, attended Hillsborough High School as a four-star recruit, and played college football at Florida, where he lined up at multiple spots along the defensive line including 3-technique, 5-technique and defensive end. In his final college season he started all 12 games and recorded 32 tackles, 8.0 sacks and 11.0 tackles for loss. The Cincinnati Bengals selected him in the third round (No. 95 overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
